![]() Characters Throughout the game, you will encounter certain characters that will join your party and are essential to get past obstacles your character cannot. If your weapon happens to break, you will revert to the weakest weapon in your inventory that can't 'break', but once it reaches the breaking point, it might as well have broken. ![]() One sidepoint is that your weapons can break, and you will need to repair them before that with repair powders. Once you level up a weapon five times, you can break it down into a synthsphere and attach it to a different weapon, giving 60% of all of that weapon's stats to the weapon you put it to. Once you get it's stats to a certain point, you can build up your weapon, making it stronger and capable of surpassing the limitations your old weapon could never break. As you use these weapons, they gain experience and can level up, increasing stats, you can increase them further by adding attachments and gems, which speed the process up significantly. Along the game you will naturally come across more weapons. Weapons In the game, you don't exactly level up your character, you do upgrade your defense through items, but all of your attack is based off of the strength of your weapon. for your weapons and also have more valuable loot. These areas have stronger enemies that give you more exp. In dungeons, there is also an area in some floors called a back floor, which is an area you can only access with a specific item that you obtain randomly in chests. Some floors do, however have a set condition, whether it be forcing you to play as a certain character or having your weapon lose experience as you use it. Every time you enter a floor of the dungeon you are in, the floor is randomly generated, a gameplay mechanic that Pokemon Mystery Dungeon utilized. Dungeon Crawling This game has a unique element to exploring it's dungeons. The system is very simple and repetitive, but fun. ![]() Some enemies, like most RPGs, are a certain element and certain attributes to your weapons hurt some enemies more than others. Gameplay -Fighting Dark Cloud doesn't necessarily have the most complex fighting system, but it fits for this game. The sound is very well done, the sounds the characters make and the weapons or enemies make are all great, well timed and a great addition to the game. The main theme and the Dran boss music are among the best music I have heard in video games, but some of the later bosses and some of the music for areas are a bit bland and sometimes repetitive. Sound The game has an iffy soundtrack at times. Every texture is well represented and looks nice in total. The game is just dated and it shows in some areas such as with draw distance, lighting water and fire effects. This is not to say that the game looks bad by any means, I would not want it any other way. Graphics While Dark Cloud may have been a visually great game at the time, it never had the best graphics. The game, however, can take a dark turn at some points later in the game. Along the way, you are introduced to some colorful characters that you must interact with and learn some of their story to satisfy their needs. Plot Dark Cloud has a surprisingly fascinating story, even though it may seem simple and childish at face value. It would be an unorganized mess if written in just one paragraph, so this will be broken into separate points. Along the way, you are introduced to some Dark Cloud is an astonishing and breathtaking game, it was when it released in 2001, and it still holds up today in 2012. Surfers both professional and recreational, have enjoyed the performance aspects, quality and consistency associated with Gunther’s boards. Moving from the Republic Of South Africa, to Australia in the early 70’s proved to be a decisive decision, that would help shape Gunther’s future in the surfboard industry.Īrriving in Australia in 1973, was the start of a ride that has seem him become one of the industries leading shaper’s. Something akin to the effects of global warming i guess. Since the introduction of the shaping machine this event occurs much less. Shapers often call it “been snowed under”refers to a busy period. The foam dust in the bays resembles a build up of snow, around the outside of a house after a good winter fall. The boards he creates, and the surfers that ride them may very well be glamorous, but the act of shaping in the bay is anything but. Surf forms, sanding blocks, gauze, planners and spoke shaves now protrude from Gunther’s hands like appendages. ![]() Gunther Rohn has spent 40 years in the shaping bay. Today, Local Motion prides itself on continually producing quality, authentic, premium surf products in Hawaii, and advocating the preservation of Hawaiian surf culture. Rob finally sold the brand in 1991 to Minami Corp., a Tokyo-based organisation, aiming to expand and serve the global surf market. Or that the cast of MTV's The Real World: Hawaii were employed at the Waikiki store in the series? You heard that right.Īnd the name was fitting - "Local Motion" was used to convey the movement, power, and speed of the surfing sport, but also embodied Hawaii's local and aloha-inspired themes. He even later went on to helm sister brands Hawaiian Style and Kahala Sportswear. Its founder, Hawaiian native Robert "Rob" Burns, was a well known surfboard shaper and was solely responsible for all design, merchandising, sales and marketing of the the company in its heyday. Save yourself some money and buy Express and an mpeg2 encoder which supports Apple's codec. Apple's mpeg encoder (bundled with "Pro") has been a problem for many and those who have it tend not to use it. I've switched platforms from a PC using Adobe Premiere to Mac's OS X using Final Cut Express HD. That being said, FCP is definitely the biggest bang for the buck out there.I've made a business using this software!įinal Cut Pro has been the standard by which all video editors are compared. These questions tell the player why the ghost is present. These questions tell the player how the ghost is feeling. These questions relate to the way that the ghost died.Īsking these questions typically yields Yes, No, and Maybe responses. Note that all answers are of the player's sanity after the sanity deduction has occurred. This is especially useful on large maps or on Nightmare difficulty where the Sanity Monitor will be unavailable. These questions can give the player a rough estimate of their current sanity level. The length of death of a ghost is a randomly generated number between years that is predetermined at level start. The age of the ghost is a randomly generated number between 2 and 90 years that is predetermined at level start. These questions tell the player whether the ghost responds to people who are alone or to everyone when using the Spirit Box. It is unknown how the answer is determined, though the answer is believed to be at least partially influenced by the number of people in the room, including the ghost itself. These questions will give the name of the room where the bone is located. Instead of providing the ghost's current room, this simply answers whether the ghost is in the same room as the person asking the question. These phrases or questions cause the Ouija Board to initiate a countdown from 5 to 0, before breaking and starting a cursed hunt. Early in the game or immediately after a hunt, using the Ouija Board may give a rough idea of where the Ghost Room is, but this is not guaranteed, especially if the ghost decides to roam far away at the start. The location given will be the currently occupied room of the ghost. Note that if a question does not get a response, it is not considered a valid question. There are at least 13 different types of questions (including two jokes) that can be asked: There is no limit to the amount of such photographs that can be taken of responses, including of the same question category, allowing players to fill up extra spaces in the journal with additional interaction photos. If a photo of the Ouija Board is taken within 20 seconds after a question is successfully asked, it will count as an interaction photo instead, with 20, 30, or 40 points rewarded depending on distance. Using a Photo Camera to take a photo of the Ouija Board, on or off, will yield a photo labelled as Ouija Board, and reward 30, 45, or 60 points depending on the distance taken. If the Ouija Board is asked a question but nothing happens, then either the board is not on or the phrase was not recognised. Whether the ghost is "shy" or not does not affect its ability to respond via the Ouija Board. If the ghost has EMF Level 5 as evidence, there is a 25% chance for this to be the reading per question asked. If the question is recognised, the planchette will move to answer the question, and an EMF Level 2 reading will be generated around the Ouija Board. If the player who activated the board walks away from an active Ouija Board, or the player currently asking questions or saying goodbye has insufficient sanity to "pay" for the question, the board will burn and break itself up, activating a cursed hunt. ![]() To deactivate the Ouija Board, any nearby player must say "Goodbye", which will make the planchette disappear. The Ouija Board does not have to be in the ghost room (nor the ghost's current room) to relay responses. The player asking the question must be within the investigation area to ask questions. The Ouija Board will then respond to voice input within 3 metres of it. This will also cancel the setup phase if it is ongoing. Once activated, the planchette will appear. The Ouija Board can be activated by holding left click on it, or toggling it directly if holding the board. Swapping to another item will cause the Ouija Board to drop from the inventory. A Ouija Board has a 1 in 6 chance per contract of being chosen as the cursed possession that will spawn, with one specific spawn location per map.Ī Ouija Board must be picked up with an empty hand. |
